Charles
(Chuck) Pavia is a marketing and corporate
development executive with a proven track
record of profitably growing businesses
in the consumer, industrial and direct
trade channels. His career includes numerous
successes in such diverse areas as pricing,
new product development, brand positioning,
joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions.
He is recognized by his peers for his
ability to blend his marketing creativity
with sound analytic and financial skills.
- Chuck is an Associate
with the Ventures and Technology Management
Group, having joined in 2004.
- Prior to joining, VTMG
he was the Director of Marketing for
the Trojan Battery Company. During his
time at Trojan, the company grew from
$80MM to $145MM in sales and more than
doubled its gross margin dollars through
product mix and price adjustments which
Chuck orchestrated. As a result of his
"branding know-how" Trojan
has become the dominant share leader
in each of its market segments.
- Prior to joining Trojan,
Chuck was the Vice President of Marketing
& Sales for Signal America, a leading
provider of direct marketing production
services. At Signal, he achieved a 22%
sales increase within 12 months by initiating
account reviews with major clients.
- His consumer product
background was with Intercraft Industries
Corporation (now owned by Newell) where
he served as Vice President Marketing
Services. During his time there, the
company grew from $125MM to $175MM in
revenue. At Intercraft he reduced the
development time of annual new product
introductions 33% by expediting engineering
and creative design procedures. He also
saved the company $3MM through adjustments
to in-store merchandising and promotional
programs.
- Mr. Pavia began his
career with Avery as a Market Research
Analyst and was quickly promoted to
Product Manager. He later moved to Times
Mirror (acquired by the Chicago Tribune)
where he was Vice President of Planning
and Development for a group of companies
focused in the office furniture/products
arena. Here he developed his corporate
transaction skills and generated increases
of over 30% in group revenue and income.
Chuck holds an MBA
from the University of Southern California
and BS in Marketing from California Polytechnic
University, Pomona. He is active in the
Association for Corporate Growth and a
founding member of the Orange County Chapter.
He has served as Chapter President and
Board Member. Chuck most recently served
as the Vice President of Marketing on
ACG's International Board of Directors.
He is currently serving as a Board Member
of Flying Adventures: Travel and Lifestyle
Magazine.
